  Being a Witness results in selfish and self centered people!

  i have noticed that many witnesses are very self centered and selfish people as a result of "leaving everything in god's hands to correct".

  what i mean is, because "the kingdom will fix poverty, the homeless, poor, underpriveleged, etc...." it means they can just pass by those in need, or fulfill their natural human desire to help (if they have it) by just giving literature!.

  so, just preach to those in need, and then you can feel good and smug about yourself!.

  Still Totally ADD

  Before my dad died we knew something was wrong with my mother mind. I keep begging my dad to get her help but he would not saying God will take care of it. After he died my wife and I was left with my mother to take care of her. From that point onward she kept getting worse. Her mind was leaving her. I was a elder then and I begged the elder's on our body to help me by talking to her to listen to her son. I was told it was not their responsiblity to help it was ours because we was family. She listen to us and finally violently attack my wife if it was not for the head rest on her seat in the car she could have broken my wife's neck. With not help from anyone in the congregation or my brother we finally had to just break our relationship with her or we would have ended up in a hosptial. She started spreading all kinds of lies about us in the congregation and these people believed her over us. I finally got my brother to take care of her and with that in place we left and moved to PA. She is now finally in a nursing home because she broke her hip. But all her money she had was all spent on maz. sub. and giving money to men in other countries. It was a big mess we had to clean up. All due to a cult that refuse to show any brotherly love.   this photograph from a news site is a succinct summary of a life in wt's hands....... look at their faces, it says it all.. also, note the watchtower pr machine in action, explaining that it brings 4 million dollars to the location.

  do parents here feel a strong sense of responsiblity for raising their children as witnessess?

  an xwitness friend was saying she and her husband feel very bad for having brought up their children as witnesses and they feel they want to make amends but are unable to do so.

  what advice would you give them.

  Nugget that was a heart wrenching story. But it shows how you did take responsibility to get your child out of a enviroment that was harmful to you son. You are to be admired for what you are doing. I remember as a child hearing all that crap about killing and death and I know what it did to my emotional well being I can just imagine what your son went through. You are right elders are not trained in anything that does not have to do with field service or DF someone. But like it was said the Wt. has had many years to fine tune their cult like thinking and are masters at controling people. Thank you for your story and best wishes to your son and family.   At one time I thought I was doing the right thing for my kids bringing them up in the Wt. Cult. Of course I did not think of it as a cult then like I do now. I wish I never heard of the Wt. Now both my wife and I in our 60's can't see our grand kids. One child has told us to stay away from our grand kids until we get help and then he will determine if that help worked. What ever that means. But we did raise them in this cult and are resposibile for this out come. All they know is mind control and cult reasoning. They are both in their 30's and to them mom and dad are out of their minds. And since they think they know better than us they feel they have the upper hand on us. What they don't understand is time keeps going on and if they wait to long we may not be around to talk to them. My hope is the grand kids when they grow up will seek us out and find out why we was not around them when they was growing up. Yes I have great regret for bringing them up in the Wt. Cult. But at this point in our live's all my wife and I can do is move forward and hope our kids see the light on of these days. Still Totally ADD P.S. I did not see my wife's thread on this until I klick this message on.

  Whatever happen to the teaching that the parents by their being baptised protects the child for the child in under their protection? It's so strange how this is suppose to be the most important thing you will ever do in your life yet we want children to do it. Why are they not pushing them to get married before they are teenagers or buying a house or drive a car. Oh they are not of legal age but in Wt. cult world it's OK for them to get baptised. I was 16 when I got baptised and I still did not know what I was doing. They use to look down their nose at other reglions that baptised children now they are doing it. Like it was said they are a cult and cult's do crazy things and think it's right because they feel they have God on their side. What a joke. Still Totally ADD

  Don't forget the world looked like it was on it's last leg. Viet. war for the U.S., riots, assasination for prominent leaders, pollution, crime, space flight to the moon. All this going on and then more. As a child in the cult I could not get past that the Wt. was right. That chart at the time looked very accurate to me. But I was a kid I knew nothing else. I had no way of disproving it. Now I can see through all of it. I just shows you how strong mind control is. They misled many but at the same time was able to get past it and become even more powerful. That is what cluts are good at. Still Totally ADD
